BEVERAGE BEASTIES

Beverage Beasties was a passion project I dreamed up in 2015. At the time, my husband and I were heavily into craft beer. He had a history in bar management and was starting his own craft beer distribution company. We travelled all over the country to various breweries and events in search of the best beers to bring into Virginia. I saw many used coasters in our travels with drink stains of various shapes and hues. So, being the doodler I am, I started making the dried stains into creatures. After some thought, I cut out my own coasters with an explanation and form printed on the back gathering the user’s name, beverage kind and brand, location of consumption, and social media handles. Wherever I went, I would hand the coasters out, and ask the people to find me when they were done with their drink. After collecting a few, I chose the most interesting stains to make into beverage beasties. Once they were scanned, I printed them on transparency paper, and using plexiglass and clear acrylic sealer, I created a coaster series set to be sold at craft fairs and on Etsy.
